DIRECT INJURIES
Is an injury caused by an external force applied to the body, such as a collision with a person or object
INDIRECT INJURIES
Caused by an intrinsic force, that is a force within the body
SOFT TISSUE INJURIES
Injuries to all other tissues apart from bone and teeth
HARD TISSUE INJURIES
Injuries to bones and teeth
OVERUSE INJURIES
Are caused by overuse of specific body regions over a period of time
RICER
Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation, Referral

INFLAMMATORY RESPONSE
Occurs when soft tissue is injured and responds by activating a self-healing process
SPRAIN
