Aim

Determine whether anger management is more effective than treatment in producing change

Participants

418 male offenders participants -probation - Anger Management programme. Australia 86% prison based - 20 hours over to 10 sessions

Procedure

Congnition behavioural approach - structured excerisises focusing on skills identifying provocation + cognitive restricting relapse prevention.

Follow up

Follow up assessment at 2 & 6 months after finishing groups

Results

Showed significantly greater improvement in anger knowledge (1.8) compared to (0.95)


2 month follow up initial improvement observed again
