The bleed valve is normally open during startup, shutdown, and at low power settings. If flag does not disappear at high power settings (near MCP), engine power is reduced, especially in cold weather. If flag does not reappear at low power settings, engine may surge. Avoid abrupt changes in power settings. Bleed valve failure results in yellow GOV light. |
