What are the factors of 12?
1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 12
What is the Least Common Multiple (LCM) of 36 and 12? other than zero.
36; b/c 3x 12 = 36, and 36 x1 =36
What is the LCM of 50 and 120?
600: do the tree method. 50 =2x5x5, 120 =3x4x2x5, What do they have in common? 2x5. Now take 2x5x5x3x4=600, you only use 2x5 once. get it?
What is the Greatest Common Factor (GCF) of 40 and 140?
20; different from LCM. 40=2x2x2x5, 140=2x2x5x7. The common factors are 2x2x5. this = 20. The 20 is found in both 40 and 140 when factoring.
Note: Mutiple means to increase and Factoring means to ___
decrease. example: multiples of 12 is 12, 24, 36, and factors of 12 is 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 12.
How do you know the integer is a multiple of 3?
add all the digits and see if that number is a multiple of 3.
Example 558, 5+5+8 = 18, yes, b/c 3 can go into 18.
How do you know the integer is a multiple of 4?
Last 2 digits of the number has to be a multiple of 4. Examples are: 336, 224, 548, NOT 558. 36, 24, and 48, all have it where 4 can go into.

How do you know the integer is a multiple of 9?
Add all the digits, has to equal to 9.
Like 558 is 5+5+8 = 18 is 1+8 =9, yup it works.
T/F Addition can happen when exponents and bases are the same.
T; look at p. 81 in kaplan
If given C degree calculate the F degree.
C x9/5 + 32 = F
