SHENG: Can use Sheng internal or external.
Harvest rinse, dehydrate w/sunshine, (captures
99% of original essence.
ZHI: Must cook and prepare to reduce toxins
DU: if toxic, must used the prepared version - soak 1-2
weeks with ginger, toss water, prepare.
BAN XIA (Zhi)
Spicey, Warming, Toxic (poisen -prepare as Zhi)
SP, ST, LU

CI: WU Tou,Heat because warming, Yin def, Blood Heat
5-10 grams
#1 Herb in category for Phlegm -treats all cold Sx.
1. dry damp transform phlegm
(SP def. patient has cold phlegm -clear, watery, profuse easily coughed up).
2. Harmonize ST and Stops vomiting.
Nausea, vomiting caused cold food/drinks excess,
worse winter, AM.
3. Reduce Nodules and reduce distention.
TIAN NAN XING (Zhi) -prepare

CI - pregnancy

2. disperse wind phlegm

facial paralysis, Bells Palsy, Lock Jaw, stroke
(Tian Nan Xing cooked with bile is Dan Nan Xiang).
DAN NAN XIANG
(Dan Nan Xiang is Tian Nan Xiang cooked with bile)

Bitter, Warming, (Toxic) LU, LV, SP
CI - Pregnancy 2-5 grams
Dan Nan Xiang is cook with ox, pig, sheep, chicken bile.

(white mustard seed)

CI - people w/sentitive skin topically, itch, rash
3-10 gram
1. warming lung, transforms phlegm, chest pain,
Cold Phlegm in Lung.
2. dispels nodules, reduces swelling, alleviates pain
opens channels
joint pain from phlegm, numbness, gangrene
XUAN FU HUA
Bitter, Salty, Slt. Warming

3-10 grams (flower-must wrap or floats)
1. re-directs Qi downwards (most flowers upward)
transforms phlegm
2. stop vomiting, calms
nausea, vomiting, hiccups

ZAO JIA
(soap bean fruit - can wash with)

1.5 grams CI: overdose can cause vomiting, nausea
1. transform phlegm
2. open orifices, wakens the spirits
coma, epilepsy
Administer powder form through nose.
3. unblocks bowel as suppository, expels roundworms
