Definition |
Caused by a failure of the thermostat in the brain, which regulates body temperature. The body becomes dangerously overheated, due to high fever or prolonged exposure to heat. |

Treatment |
1. Quickly remove clothing 2. Help them to sit down, supported with cushions. Wrap in a cold wet sheet (if no sheet, fan or sponge) 3. Once temperature is normal, replace wet sheet with dry one. 4. If vital signs worsen, call 999/112. If temperature rises, repeat cooling process |
