What is an open circulatory system?

Blood circulates in large open cavities surrounding the organs. Molecules then diffuse between the blood and cells.

What is a closed circulatory system?

Blood travels in blood vessels to and from the heart. This generates higher blood pressures which makes transport faster.

What's the difference between a single and a double closed circulatory system?

In single (fish) blood is pumped through the heart once whereas in double this is done twice. This provides the extra driving force for blood to go all around a large organism's body.
