What is an open circulatory system? |
Blood circulates in large open cavities surrounding the organs. Molecules then diffuse between the blood and cells. |
|
What is a closed circulatory system? |
Blood travels in blood vessels to and from the heart. This generates higher blood pressures which makes transport faster. |
|
What's the difference between a single and a double closed circulatory system? |
In single (fish) blood is pumped through the heart once whereas in double this is done twice. This provides the extra driving force for blood to go all around a large organism's body. |
