Moral guidelines for sexual behavior
sexual values
Sexual value system based on unconditional allegiance to the authority of science, law, tradition, or religion e.g. (sexual intercourse before marriage is wrong).
absolutism
The conscious decision of a sexually active person to refrain from intimate encounters for a specified period of time.
secondary virginity
The belief that giving in to carnal lusts is wrong and that one must rise above the pursuit of sensual pleasure to a life of self-discipline and self-denial.
asceticism
Sexual value system whereby decisions are made in context of the situation and the relationsip (e.g. sexual intercourse is justified in a stable, caring, monogamous context).
relativism
A relationship consisting of non-romantic friends who also have a sexual relationship.
friends with benefits
Sexual value system emphasizing the pursuit of pleasure and the avoidance of pain.
hedonism
Stimulating one's own body (usually genitals) with the goal of experiencing pleasurable sexual sensations.
masturbation

The state in which a stimulus loses its value with repeated expsoure. Partners sometime get tired of each other because they are around each other all the time.

Sexually transmitted infections sociosexual contact.
STI
Human immunodeficiency virus, which attacks the immune system and can lead to AIDS.
HIV AIDS
Mentally observing one's own and one's partner's sexual performance. Often interferes with performance because of the associated anxiety.
