Epidermis: (ep-ih-DER-mis)
the outermost layer of the skin.
Dermis: (DER-mis)
the layer of skin immediately beneath the epidermis; the corium.
Subcutaneous Fatty Tissue
Subcutaneous fat is the fatty or adipose tissue lying directly under the skin layers. It contains not only fatty tissues but also blood vessels and nerves. It is a shock absorber and also stores energy.
