What is software?

Software is a set of instructions that needs to be installed into a computer. It can also help control computer devices.

What is hardware?
|
Hardware is a device for a computer which can be physically touched or picked up. These are controlled by an installed software

Definition of Input devices?
|
Input devices are ways of entering information into our computers. This data/information can be pieces of text or images etc.

Examples of input devices;
|
- Keyboard - A device that enables us to enter pieces of text into our computer.
- Mouse - A way of navigating around our computer. - Scanner - A method of scanning in images rather than text. |

Definition of Output devices?
|
These devices show data back to us. This is usually done by portraying the information back to us in a form of screen. the data shown back is usually been manipulated by the data entered from input devices.

Examples of output devices;
|
- Desktop screen - Data on the computer is shown back to us on the screen.
- Printer - Printers have information sent to them which they then print out to us. - Touch screen - These are both input and output devices as information is entered in the screen aswell as given out in the same screen. |
