Civilian Conservation Corps |
Federal work for the youth, basically young people between 18 and 25 were kept of the street and sent to build things. They had to send half of their paycheck back to their family so they wouldn’t trash their money.

The elderly were the hardest hit during the great depression. They wouldn’t be hired, lost almost or all of their life savings and retirement money, required people to take money out of their paycheck for retirement because no one thinks about these things when they are young.

Farmers were producing too much food, overproduction subsidy, the government paid farmers no to grow certain crops. The prices on food raised and the farmers all got more money.

The government’s regulation of buying and selling stocks. This stopped the giving of tips and hints that gave people a humongous advantage.

|
Put to work the artists and musicians. Paid to paint murals on the walls, make federal movies, historians put to work because they were laid off of colleges because they were told they couldn’t do anything, recorded the dying history.

|
Told the businesses to cooperate by setting steady prices so they would all get more money and to help pay for a minimum wage for workers, and to use the blue eagle symbol to agree to cooperate and get buyers to buy.

Employed skilled workers, put plumbers, carpenters, electricians, etc. to work to send them to build stuff for federal pay.

Tennessee living in the past, no indoor toilets, electricity, or anything. FDR wanted to bring 20th century to Tennessee, built dams for government pay, and then let the government run it.

areas that houses were built out of scraps of metal and cardboard, blamed the depression on Hoover.

|
when FDR was passing numbers of bills through congress over the period, part of the new deal that was promised.

|
