1) Describe divergent and convergent plate boundaries. |
1) Divergent: Plates moving apart. Move apart, gap appears and filled by lava which cools and forms new crust. Convergent: Oceanic and continental crust meet, oceanic crust forced below continental crust(heavier).Plate forced down, pressure builds up and trigger violent EQ. At same time, heat produced by friction melts plate. Hot magma reaches surface. Volcano |
