What unique requirement is present the first time you get your license renewed?

None. You used to have to get 3 CE in cultural diversity but that changed with the rules that went into effect on 1 Jan 2015. Now you do not need this.

For area 3. In area three you get one CE for general conference attendance at the rate of one CE per day.

What are the dates of the licensure cycle?

From 1 Jan odd number year to 31 Dec even number year.

What grace period is there for renewal?

Late renewal goes for 6 months, till 30 Jun of the odd year following the given cycle.

If you firt get you license during an odd year how many CE do you need to renew?

20 with 3 in ethics.

If you first get your license in an even year how many CE do you need?

0 - they don't require any.

If you serve as a peer reviewer for an alledged violation - how and how many CE do you get?

You can get up to 3 CE per biannual renewal period; but only if the results are written up and the report is accepted by the board.

If you act as an examiner on the Board's subcommittee for oral exams how many CE do you get?

You get 3 per day, and up to 6 per cycle.

If you serve on the ethic committee for the board how many CE can you get?

6 CE per biannual if you serve on the board the whole cycle. If you serve one year you get 3. If you serve for 6 months you get 1 CE.

  • you can get up to 20 CE in this for each new course you give or take.
  • if you take a course you get 20 CE for successful completion
  • if you give a new course you get 10 CE.
  • you can only get a maximum of 20 CE in this area
  • proof is grade for class on transcript
  • get 5 CE for a peer reviewed article with a max of 10 CE per cycle

On-going peer consultation


  • groups that meet to discuss/consult about areas in the profession of psychology
  • if you do this you must get at least 10 CE and no more than 20.
  • Must keep a log of dates, topics, location, participants, and number of hours.
  • leader must attest to the log and get it notorized.

Area III CE is...

Attending a conference or convention


  • one CE per day
  • max of 5 CE per cycle
  • documentation is proof of conference attendance

Area IV CE is...

APA - CPA - GPA approved CE


  • face to face CE that gives you a cert of completion.
  • can get all 40 CE in this area
  • one hour = one CE
  • CE approvers can also be Fed institutes, Speciality boards of the Am Board of Prof Psych, Association for Psychological Science, Natl Assoc for School Psych, and regionally accredited ed institute.
