Supine on table with knees bent. Drop hips to outside



Positive test:


Opposite hip moves more than 1cm in the first 50% of movement

Marching

Supine with knees bent. Lifting of foot off table 1in. Repeat on both sides.



Positive test:


Hip drop on the leg that lifts up



Indications: disassociation of hip and low back muscle control

Alternate hip extension (bird dog w/o arms)

On all fours. Pt extends leg behind them.



Positive test:


Hip drop on leg that extends

Elbow flexion test


(modified vertical compression)

Standing with elbows at side at 90.


Downward force applied to forearms


Assess core stability an trunk/hip motion

Forward motion of hips, inability to sustain position
