Purpose of schoo: to preserve a common set of values that foster social unity and maintain social order.

Is teaching a profession?
No. Should be. but its not.

-Individual teachers don't make the decisions about their workforce, like regulating their activities.

In Common:they all fought for equal education. Both Plato and Jefferson thought education should be available but that onle a certain few should continue to the top of it


Differences:Dubois took more of a miliant approach to it

-ignores many subjects that are important

-not very much student involvement in the lessons

-The assessments are all very test based and involve practically no involved reasoning or thinking. No deep knowdedge of the material needed.
