Sea arch formation

Weaknesses in the cliff are widened by hydraulic action which then breaks pieces of rock off to widen the crack.


This crack is eroded further and becomes a sea cave. Abrasion help erode horizontally all the way through the back of the cave to the other side of the headland forming a sea arch

The roof gets too heavy because of weather and the roof collapses. Which leaves a sea stack.
