How are Fold Mountains formed?

When tectonic plates collide, the sedimentary rocks that have built up between them are folded and pushed upwards to form mountains. These mountains are found at destructive plate margins and places that used to be destructive plate margins.

MINING: Fold Mountains are a major source of metal ores which means they are a mining heaven. Steep slopes make it difficult to access the mines, so zigzag roads have been carved into the mountains.
