Clinical Impression of AAA

Acute onset


Sharp, ripping, tearing pain


Pain radiates to the back, flank, or groin.


Unequal lower extremity cap refills times.


Unequal pedal pulses


Abdominal distention


Pulsatile mass in abdomen

Signs that can appear on AAA

Tachycardia, Hypotension, Pale cool and Diaphoretic skin

Management for AAA

Pt in supine


O2 only if Sx/Symptoms of hypoxia are present


Transport


Determine feasibility of ALS intercept


Reassess the pt for changes
