Assyrians
A large empire that developed and grew sophisticated military and weapons. They were attacked often because of their surroundings but they were powerful enough to fight back. They didn't rest conquered people well. They used archery and horses, had powerful leaders, a strong social structure, and governed by fear.
Babylonians
Empire located on the Euphrates river which was founded by semetic nomadic warriors. Hammurabi's code was laws for everyone's use, but punished rich and poor and men and women differently. The laws gave Babylonian government more responsibility.

Hammurabi
Babylonian King who was a lawgiver, military leader, diplomate, and the administrator of the empire. He formed Hammurabi's Code which applied to everyone. However, sometimes unfairly. The poor were treated harsher, as were women. Famously, his code had laws that resembled “an eye for an eye.”

An ancient Egyptian writing system in which pictures were used to represent pictures and sounds
Judaism
A religion founded by Abraham who is the "father". They believed in one god. Their religion is based on the Torah which is the first five books of the Hebrew bible
Nile valley civilization
A settlement along the Nile river with rich soil used to harvest crops. The Egyptians worshiped because of the amount of harvest they were able to get from it
Persians
An empire first ruled by Cyrus the his sons. They used cuneiform. They devolved 20 provences and the coin system. It lasted for over 200 years and was a massive empire.
Pharaoh
They were the Egyptian kings that were thought to be gods
Sumerians
They were thought to be the first ever civilizations. They settled in mesopatima
Mesopotamia
"the land between the rivers" the eastern part of the fertile crescent that is in between the Euphrates and the Tigris rivers. it was first settled on in 4500 bc by the sumaians.
Ziggurat
"mountain of god" a massave perimad shaped themple.
Aryans
An Indo-European pastoral nomadic group who first lived in Southern Russia then moved to the Indus Valley and combined with the people already living there. Aryans were separated into Kshatriyas (rulers and warriors), Brahmins (priests), and Vaishyas (traders, farmers, and craftsmen). Their sacred text was the Vedas, and the name given to the time period of the Aryans was the Vedic Age.
Axial Age
Time period when many religions come about spontaneously.
Buddhism
A religion that was founded by siddhartha. The religion followed the four noble truths
Caste System
A system that puts people in a ranking. If the people follow their drama they can get good carma to reach moksha.
Hinduism
A branch off religion from Brahminism that believed in offering something to everyone regardless of gender, personal qualities, or caste.
Indian ocean trade

A civilization that declined in 1750 bc. It was over farmed whiched made the Indus river change it's course.
Jainism
A religion that believes that everything is living and should not be harmed
Monsoons
A seasonal wind that in the wind blows westward and in the summer blows and brings huge rain storms. It dominates the Indian climate
Siddhartha
The founder of Buddhism. Legends say that there was a prophecy that told that if he never left the palace he would become a great ruler and if he did leave, he would become a spiritual leader. After leaving the palace for the first time and seeing all of life's suffering he realized that only religion gives you self-fulfillment and refuge
