Vulva
External genetalia on a female
Mons (Mons Veneris)
Mound of fat at top of the Vulva, can cause pleasure
Labia Major (major outer lips)
Padded with fatty tissue and partially covered in pubic hair. Extends from the Mons downward on either side of the Vulva. Innerside is erotically sensitive. Closed when not excited, open at excitement
Labia Minora (minor inner lips)
Hairless, loose folds of skin located between the labia majora and immediately flanking the Vestibule. More sensitive than the Labia Majora. Engorge in blood and increase in size with excitement (vasocongestion)
Clitoral Hood (prepuce)
The loose fold of skin that covers the Clitoris.
Clitoris
The erectile organ that is most senstitve. Area in which the inner lips meet. Made of spongy tissue and has internal (shaft) and external/visible (glans) portions.

glans-small senstive pearl sized knob at the front of the vestibule whose nerves produce sexual arousal.

shaft- 1 inch length runs upward from glans under the clitoral hood

* Both glands and shaft are erectile and have two cavernous bodies and a spongy body that fill with blood
Vaginal Opening
The introitus, the entrance to the vagina covered by hymen layer
Hymen
A membrane usually perforated or incomplete, that covers the opening of the Vagina. It may be ruptured by first Coitus or for a myriad of other reasons

*Imperforate Hymen: No opening
Perineum
The region of skin between the anus and the Vulva. Can be an erotically sensitive area. Is hairless and the area cut during an episiotomy
Pelvic Floor Muscles
A muscular sling that underlies and supports pelvic organs. Contraction during sex stiffens Vaginal walls and lead to orgasm, prevents urinary and fecal leakage, and keep semen in Vagina.

PC muscle is key in PFM, it is attached to the pubic bone in front and encircle the vagina
Vagina
The outermost portion of the reproductive tract. The Vaginal wall is highly elastic. It is inhabited by large numbers of "friendly bacteria."
Physiological changes during arousal include vasocongestion and lubrication.
Grafenberg Spot (G-Spot)
An area of heightened sensitivity on the front wall of the vagina. 1-2 inches in from the entrance. Feels ridge-like and spongy and may cause one to feel the need to urinate. A peice of tissue almost an inch wide. Can ejaculate a small amount, remnant of the prostate gland
Cervix
The lowermost narrow portion of the uterus that connects it with the Vagina. Located at the end of the Uterus, where the baby's head goes through; about the size of a pencil
The OS
The opening of the cervix that connects the Vagina with the cervical canal
Uterus
The womb; an upside down pear shaped region of the reproductive trac, through which sperm are transported and where the fetus develops. The wall of the Uterus has 3 layers: endometrium, myometrium, and perimetrium
1) endometrium
The internal lining of the Uterus. Switches periodically between two reproductive functions; the transport of sperm up the reproductive tract toward the site of fertilization and the implantation and nourishment of an embryo. Changes over the course of a menstrual cycle
2) Myometrium
The muscular layers of the wall of the Uterus made primarily of smooth muscle. Under control of the the Autonomic Nervous System and contractions cannot be triggered or prevented by will. Involuntary contractions during labor play a vital role in the delivery of the fetus. Also aid in the shedding and expulsion of the endometrial lining at menstruation, menstrual cramps
3) Perimetrium
The tough outer leayer covering of the Uterus is thin and seperates the Uterus from the pelvic cavity. Prevents the Uterus from bursting
Oviducts
Also known as, fallopian tubes. Either of two bilaterial tubes that lead from the Uterus toward the ovaries; the usual site of fertilization and around 4 inches long
Cilia
Microscopic, hairlike extensions of cells, often capable of a coordinated beating motion, pulling the egg into the oviducts
Fimbria
A fringelike set of extensions from the open end of an oviduct. Lined with Cilia that help propel ova down the oviducts
2 Ovaries(with follicles inside)
The organs that produce ova and secrete sex steroids. Egg shaped structures measuring 1-1.5 inches long about the same size and shape as a man's testicles. Contain a large number of follicles that consist of an oocyte, a developing egg cell
Follicles(a sac containing 1 egg)
more mature, possess a central fluid filled cavity
Ova(many eggs) Ovum(one egg)
A mature female gamete, prior to or immediately after fertilization
Breasts, nipples (papilla mammae), areola
In sexual arousal breast size increases. The circular patch of darker skin that surrounds the nipple is the areola. A potential source of sexual arousal with a reproductive function, lactation
Crura
Internal extensions of clitoris, giving the entire structure a wishbone shape. About 3 inches long, enwrap portions of urethra/urethra opening. Area which urine is discharged out of bladder
Vestibular Bulbs
Internal portions of the Clitoris. Erectile tissue that surround the vestibule and underline the labia minora. Become erect during sexual arousal and help to lengthen and stiffen the vagina
Anus
Orifice located at the back of the perineum. Can be a site for penetration or oral stimulation- provides little to no lubrication
