Step-wedge (Penetrometer) |
A device consisting of increasing increments of an absorbing material. A radiographic exposure made with step-wedge is used to determine the amount of radiation reaching the image receptor through each of the increments. Measurements of radiographic image density may be used to evaluate the intensity and penetrative power of radiation. |
