Required colonists to buy tea only from the British East India Company. Colonists response: Boston Tea Party
Intolerable Acts 1774
British response to Boston Tea Party: Quartering Act: Required colonists to provide housing for British soldiers Also included: closing Boston Harbor until ruined tea was paid for and made town meetings illegal.
Confederal Government
Powers strong in the states and less in central authority. Ex. Americas first government after the Revolutionary Ear: Articles of Confederation.
