Enzyme

Biological catalysts that maintain rate of metabolism.

Active Site

Surface where the reaction occurs.

Substrate

The surface or material on or from which an organism lives, grows, or obtains its nourishment.

Saturation Point

Increase in concentration of substrate increases rate of reaction until all enzyme active sites are occupied. The reaction then proceeds at its maximum rate.

Denature

Permanent change where enzyme no longer catalyses reaction.

Manufacture

Controlled by nucleus.
