Lancaster, father of Bolingbroke. Ignored prophesier of doom. Henry's decision to seize his property after Gaunt's death triggers his downfall.

Loyal preacher of the divine right to rule.

The murderer of Richard II on a misinterpretation. Affords respect to the dead king for his resistance.
