EXW or Ex Works
Ex Works: The seller makes the goods available at his premises. The buyer is responsible for all other logistics charges.
FOB
Free on Board: The seller loads the goods on board the ship nominated by the buyer. The buyer pays for the shipping cost. In this way the logistical responsibility is shared 50/50 between seller and buyer.
CFR or CNF
Cost and Freight: The seller will pay the cost of documentation, and port charges as well as the freight. However, If cargo is damaged while in transit, buyer is responsible, not the seller.
CIF
Cost, Insurance and Freight: Exactly the same as CFR except that the seller must additionally pay for freight insurance.
CPT
Carriage Paid To (named place of destination): the equivalent of CFR but with truck.
CIP
Carriage Paid to (Named place of destination): the equivalent of CIF but with truck
FCA
Free Carrier: An American Term. The equivalent of CFR but with any form of transport.
FAS
Free Alongside Ship: the equivalent of FOB
DDU
Delivered Duty Unpaid: Same as CIF
DDP
Delivered Duty Paid: Same as CIF but with taxes paid
