mechanical solidarity:
Primitive society is held together by the fact there is very little division of labor, virtually everyone is essentially doing the same things.
organic solidarity:
substantial division of labour is a nessisty in modernsociety; people need the contributions of an increasing number of people in order to function and even to survive. job specialization
dynamic density:
Number of people and thier frequency of interaction. Increase of dynamic density= mechanical solidarity changing to organic solidarity
collective conscious
ideas shared by a group of people such as a society, a tribe ect.
Repressive law:
Seen in mechanical solidarity, over punishing for anything that is seen as bad. eg. cut off somones hand for stealing
restitutuve law
seen in organic solidarity aka modern day law. caused by a weaker collective consciousness, usually ending in restitutive punishment eg. community service, fine ect.

external or coersive to the individual
Material Social Facts:
social facts that take material form in the external social world.
anomie:
associated with organic solidarity, not knowing what one is expected to do, being adrift form society.
