describe the jacket water system.
cools engine cylinders, turbo charger & governor oil system, aux jacket water pump runs while diesel is off.
describe the edg starting air system
provides compressed air @ 240psig for starting engines, assists turbo with acceleration. another header taps off for 100psig valve control
describe the edg crankcase breather system
removes oil vapors & minimize oil leakage from the crankcase
describe the edg intake air and exhaust gas system.
provides clean cool air for combustion. collect hot burned gasses discharged from the diesel & directs it through the turbo charger to atmosphere.
describe the edg Woodward governor system
maintain engine speed while operating in any configuration.
describe the edg generator excitation system
can help create magnetic field if generator is not creating a strong enough field.
flow path of lube oil system
lube oil sump tank acts as reservoir for lube oil as the engine is not provided with an internal sump
flow path of fuel oil system
only in service during diesel runs. storage tanks to transfer pump, through filter to day tank, gravity drains from day tank to filter and fuel pump to edg.
flow path of jacket water system.
normally usues demon water from mup. backup source is esw
flow path of starting air system
starting air compressor to air receivers. can go through reducer filters to air control valves or it can go to starting air valves.
flow path of crankcase breather system.
maintains negative pressure to prevent leaks. removes air from oil and sends oil back through oil seperator. air vents to atmosphere.

turbo charger compressor takes suction on the outside air through a filter & air silencer.
