Friction
Resistance to motion between two objects when they touch.
Traction
The friction between a vehicle's tires and the road surface.
Momentum
The energy of motion; the product of weight and speed.
Kinetic energy
The energy of motion.
Gravity
The invisible force that pulls all objects on earth toward its center.
Center Gravity
The point around which all the weight of an object is evenly distrabuted.
Total stopping distance
The distance covered by a vehicle from the perception distance to the moment that the vehicle comes to a stop.
Perception distance
The distance a vehicle covers during the time in which its driver indentifies a need to stop.
