Vulvovaginitis

This is a group of infectious diseases and other inflammatory disorders which affect thevaginal mucosa ± vulva. They are characterised by vaginal discharge.
(Usually an infection aetiology)

Cervicitis

An inflammation of the cervix, which may be either acute or chronic

Pelvic infections

Pelvic infections are defined as infections affecting the genital organs and the adjacenttissues (eg. broad ligament, blood vessels, lymphatics, or uterine tube), above the level ofthe cervix.
Acute - Usually caused by Chlamydia or Gonorrhoea


Chronic - Secondary to another disease.

Chronic Mastitis AKA Fibroadenosis

An extremely common disorder which ranges from ‘physiological variants’ to potentiallypre-cancerous, and characterised by fibrocystic changes in the breast.
