Soft nylon bristles & end tufted toothbrush; Floss, floss threaders, and superfloss; pipe cleaners wih synthetic bristles (not metal); Proxabrush (nylon coated only); Irragation Systems (viadent, Wooq, Water-pik); Rotadent and Interplax with Peridex; 2x2 gauze strips as floss; Plastic, wooden Instruments

How would you polish an implant?

Polish with Tin Oxide in a prophy cup.

What are some contraindicated items for implants?
|
Prophy-jet, metal instruments, polishing with pumice, ultrasonic cavitron, hard rigid toothbrush; safety pins ("self-cleaning"), paper clips ("self-cleaning")

What is the primary area of concern when dealing with the health of implants?

The sulcular area around the implant or insert.

What do you look for when examining implant success?
|
Signs of imflammation and exudate around the implant and check for mobility
