HYD SD SYMBOLOGY What does it mean when the Hydraulic Power XFR Unit symbol is A) White? B) Green? |
White = Commanded off. Green = Commanded on. |
HYD 001 Vol 2, 13-10 |
|
HYD SD SYMBOLOGY What does it mean when HYD P is white? Boxed Amber? |
White = P w/in limits Boxed Amber = Out of limits |
HYD 001 Vol 2, 13-10 |
|
HYD SD SYMBOLOGY What's it mean when the AUX Pump symbol is A) White? B) Green? C) Amber [with the letter P displayed]? |
A) Commanded off B) Commanded on C) Commanded on w/low pressure |
HYD 001 Vol 2, 13-10 |
|
HYD SD SYMBOLOGY What's it mean when the AUX Pump symbol is A) White? B) Green? C) Amber [with the letter P displayed]? |
A) Commanded off B) Commanded on C) Commanded on w/low pressure |
HYD 001 Vol 2, 13-10 |
|
HYD SD SYMBOLOGY What's it mean when HYD fluid quantity is A) White? B) Boxed Amber? |
White = Fluid level w/in limits Boxed Amber = Fluid level below limits |
HYD 001 Vol 2, 13-10 |
|
HYD SD SYMBOLOGY What's it mean when the the box around the HYD fluid reservoir icon is white? Amber? |
White = Fluid level w/in limits Amber = Fluid level below limits |
HYD 001 Vol 2, 13-10 |
|
HYD SD SYMBOLOGY What does the cyan line on the HYD Fluid Reservoir image represent? |
The pre-flight hydraulic fluid level |
HYD 001 Vol 2, 13-10 |
|
Where is the electrically driven Aux HYD Pump located? |
Right wheel well |
HYD 002 Vol 2, 13-20 |
|
What are the 2 purposes of the AUX hydraulic switch (/the electrically driven aux pump)? |
-Back up right Engine Driven Pmp -Pressurize the hydraulic systems on the ground when engines are NOT running |
HYD 002 Vol 2, 13-20 |
|
Can the AUX HYD pump operate all right system components (including the landing gear) if we lose R EDP or R Engine? |
YES |
HYD 002 Vol 2, 13-20 |
|
What does the Aux Hyd Pump's thermal protection do? |
Automatically shuts down the pump if it overheats |
HYD 002 Vol 2, 13-20 |
|
What does the HYD CONT RUDDER switch do? |
Allows selection of manual rudder |
HYD 003 Vol 2, 13-20 |
|
What happens when you press the HYD CONT RUDDER switch? |
OFF illuminates, hyd pwr to the rudder's shut off, and the rudder reverts to manual operation |
HYD 003 Vol 2, 13-20 |
|
Where is the HYD XFR pump located and what does it do? |
Left wheel well. It enables a pressurized system to mechanically power an unpressurized system when both system reservoirs quantities are normal. |
HYD 004 Vol 2, 13-10 & 13-20 |
|
What does turning the TRANS pump switch on do? What does turning it off do? |
On = Opens a valve on either side of the Power Transfer Unit (PTU) to connect left & right systems. Off = Closes the valves & disconnects the systems |
HYD 004 Vol 2, 13-10 & 13-20 |
|
What do we need to do before testing the HYD system or turning on the AUX and TRANS pumps? |
Coordinate w/ ground crew or the other pilot to ensure area is clear (Alternate procedure exists if no outside observer's available) |
HYD 005 Vol 1, SP 13 |
|
WARNING: Don't establish hyd pwr which will result in flap, slat, or spoiler movement unless ... |
... the wing/flap area has been cleared of personnel and equipment. |
HYD 005 Vol 1, SP 13 |
|
What's the effect of electrical failure on the HYD EDPs? |
EDP Pump defaults to ON when electrical power is removed |
HYD 006 Vol 2, 13-20 |
|
