The samurai's and the knight's armor was based on who they fought. The knights had to be safe against arrows and blades.The samurai had the same problem. They each solved it a diffrent way. The samurai would wear layers of hard but flexible material. They might have one layer of chainmail. The Knights, on the other hand, had plated armor and it covered thier whole body. They could have a layer of chainmail under it.

The samurai and knights had different codes that they were suppose to follow. The samurai had a code calles bushido and the knights had a code called chivalry. these codes bolth stated that the samirai and knights had to be loyal to thier lords and to protect them with their life.
