What is windage in a steam turbine
Windage is the force created on an object by friction when there is relative movement between the object and a fluid. Windage can occur in steam turbines during start up/ shut down and after a turbine trip. windage also occurs in air cool generators
What is the purpose of Hood exhaust Sprays
Hood sprays reduce exhaust steam temperature by spraying water into the exhaust steam. Often needed during turbine start up/shut down

Establish seals and pull vacuum, have sufficient boiler pressure and 100°f of superheat. Turbine on turning gear and complete any yard switching.
