1 of 2 TACW pumps takes suction on the common return header and discharge through the TACW Heat Exchanger.
The flow path is then through the parallel loads into a common return header and back to the Pump suction.
Makeup water is supplied through a small bypass line around open cycle shutoff valve c-210, which is closed at this time.
The TACW Heat Exchanger is cooled by circulating water in the heat exchanger tubes.
TACW from Hotwell temperatures >95F on U1 and >104F on U2 must be in closed cycle
--Rejects heat to lake which lowers cycle efficiency
TACW pump suction is supplied from the hotwell pump discharge header through open cycle shutoff valve C-210.
One of two TACW pumps discharge through Heat Exchanger Bypass Valve CMO-600 the parallel loads.
The flow exits the loads to a common return header and returns to the Hotwell Pumps Discharge Header through the OPEN Cycle Shutoff valve C-249.
++Increases Cycle Efficiency
Open Cycle WITH TACW Heat Exchanger
Used up to 30% power to reduce overall condensate temperatures (in conjunction with MFP ELOs and Turbine spray).
TACW Heat Exchanger no longer has copper. Some loads do.
