All Earl cares about is changing his wife, to make her look better. He notices men staring at her and talking about her weight at the diner, Earl suggests she looses weight. When he goes back to the diner after she has lost weight, a man at the bar doesnt even notice her when Earl is trying to get him to notice.
Doreen Ober
Doreen is pressured to loose weight on word from her husband. She looses so much weight that she becomes malnourished and starts to look sickly, her coworkers at the diner notice and tell her she needs to start eating more.
