Equal consideration of interests provides an impartial 'base position' for arriving at moral decisions, avoids issues of partiality, specieism and power
Consistency
Gives consistent method for judging ethical dilemmas eg disabled person getting to live
Radicalism
Offers radical solution to world poverty, animal welfare and issues of human sexuality
Devaluing human life
The 'commodification' of humans denied the inherent dignity that all humans even foetuses possess equally, makes big decisions s eg if the life of a disabled person and their conscious life and the worth of life
Inconsistencies
Awards personhood status to foetus of 4 weeks. Seems inconsistent to award infants lesser stasis and apes higher status. Condemns himself even in form of specieism - the tyranny of the self conscious
Partiality
We intuitively treat our own relatives differently, contrary to his equality principle, partial to moral choices towards those nearer to us
