Public health nurse part 2
- knows that communities health is often reflected first in individual & family healyh experiences
- recognize that healthy communities & systems that support health contribute to opportunities for health for individuals, groups, populations
-practices in community health centres, schools, street clinics, youth centres & nursing outposts
Home health nurse part1
-combines knowledge from primary health care, nursing and social science
-focuses on prevention, health restoration, maintenance & palliation
- focuses on client, their caregivers & families
-integrates health promotion, teaching, counseling in clinical care and treatment
Home health nurse part 2
- initiates, manages & evaluates the resources needed for the client to reach optimal well-being and function
-provides care in the client's home, school or workplace
Canadian Community Health Nursing Standards of Practice
- define the scope of practice
-denote the generic nursing practice expectations & identify practice principle specific to CH nursing practice
-all CHN are expected to know & apply the standards to their practice, while experts CHN would practice beyond these standards
-the main 5 standards are necessarily broad to account for the breadth & scope of practices in CH nursing
