Nominal data
Counting into categories. They are mutually exclusive - no overlap
E.g. 4 men and 4 women in the roomir
Ordinal data
Results are put into order, they are ranked
E.g. Horses in a race - only know the order they came in, not what time they finished
Interval data
Being a specific measure, this can be measured on an instrument, there are equal intervals between each piece of data
E.g. Recording the exact heights in cm using a measuring tape
