Present Subjunctive
The subjunctive is a "mood" that reflects how the speaker feels about an action
"No creo que" "Es bueno que"
Verb Endings
-ar verbs
yo - e
tú - es
él/ella/Ud. - e
nosotros/as - emos
ellos/ellas/Uds. - en
er and ir verbs
yo - a
tú - as
él/ella/Ud. - a
nosotros/as - amos
ellos/ellas/Uds. - an
The conjugate into the present yo form them drop the o and add the ending
Irregulars
dar:
dé, des, dé, demos, den
estar:
esté, estés, esté, estemos, estén
haber:
haya, hayas, haya, hayamos, hayan
ir:
vaya, vayas, vaya, vayamos, vayan
saber:
sepa, sepas, sepa, sepamos, sepan
ser:
sea, seas, sea, seamos, sean
Present Indicative
Used to express what is presently occurring
ar verbs:
yo - o
er verbs:
ir verbs:
nosotros/as - imos
Keep in mind "go" verbs and stem-changing verbs
The Imperfect
Is used to refer the actions in the past that occurred repeatedly
yo - aba
tú - abas
él/ella/Ud. - ábamos
ellos/ellas/Uds. - aban
er and ir verbs:
yo - ía
tú - ías
él/ellas/Ud. - ía
nosotros/as - íamos
ellos/ellas/Uds. - ían
era, eras, era, éramos, eran
ver:
veía, veías, veía, veíamos, veíamos
iba, ibas, iba, ibamos, iban
