TR is FN lawfully admitted to enter Canada for temporary period. Categories:
Temporary resident permit holder
Subsection 183(1) IRPR
A) leave Canada by end of period authorized
B) to not work unless authorized
C) to not study
D) comply with requirements imposed on them by order or regulation
183(1)(a). Leave after 6 months or less.
As officers we must be satisfied that TR will leave at end of stay,
Has proof of ties/responsibilities in home country
Funds available to them
Arrangements for transportation outside of Canada (ticket home)
Conditions Imposed on certain TR
185(b)(v) crew - enough time to get on vessel
185(d) - limit the area where TR can travel
185(e)(i) - medical compliance reporting - go to doctors.
185(e)(ii) - furnish evidence of compliance as a control measure.
Biometrics
-screen applicants biometrics against RCMP immigration and criminal records
-Biometrics are required from all TRV, work permit, study permit, TRP applicants.
-valid for 10 years
-EXEMPT: applicants younger than 14 or older than 79

U.S. transit
Visa exempt visitors (FN who require eTA as visitors
-1 in 10 policy (only need to submit once a year, but at year 8 if wp for 3 years is requested, only can provide for 2 years, unless bio's are submitted again)

$170 family rate
$255 group of performing artists (3 or more)
Visitor Records
Issued to TR when intention is to stay shorter or longer than 6 months.
-seaman entering only to sign off or join a crew
-Fn entering for medical treatment
-military personnel and family members entering Can for the Visiting Forces Act
-After-Sales Service more than 48 hours
Who requires a study permit?

IRPR section 219 and 220: docs requires for study permit application
subsection 216(3) of IRPR: certifie quebec
EXCEPTIONS:
section 188 IRPR FN who can study without permit
section 214 IRPR exceptions to general requirements to apply and obtain study permit before appearing at POE.
