What is the Pentateuch?
The first five books of the Bible
What story does the pentateuch tell?
How sin entered into the world and how God responded to that sin.
Who wrote the pentateuch (long answer)?
It seems clear that no 1 person wrote the first five books of the Bible, but it also is probable that Moses wrote at least some of it such as the transcription of the Revelation he received on Mount Sinai. A likely explanation seems that later scribes updated the language similar to how we update translations of the Bible. But Moses could not have recorded the account of his own death and he would not have known of a place in northern Israel called Dan and he would not have referred to the conquest of Canaan as a past event.
