Types of stretching?
Active: holding a stretch with no assistance.
Passive: holding a stretch with assistance.
Ballistic: using momentum of other body parts or limbs to bounce the muscle to a further stretch than normal.
Static: holding a stretch at its furthest point.
Training methods?
Continuous: aerobic, running and swimming.
Intermittent: alternative periods of recovery and effort.
Weight: isolates large muscle groups in a short amount of time.
Pylometric: stretching the muscles before an immediate contraction.
Mobility: preparing muscles for the activity.
Warm up?
General warm up, stretching, specific warm up and then psychological preparation.
