Direct Democracy
Form of Democracy based on direct, unmediated and continuous participation of citizens in tasks of government. There is no distinction between government and the people. It is pure.
Representative democracy
A form of democracy whereby elected officials are chosen by the people to make decisions for the people. True representative democracy included periodic elections where by representatives can be held accountable by the electorate.
