Nucleic Acids
Nucleic Acids are macromolecules that consist of the element carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen and phosphorus . The monomers of nucleic acids are called nucleotide.
Eg:DNA and RNA.

DNA
-found mainly within the chromosomes are the carries of genetic information.
-DNA molecules consist of double chain of nucleotides.
-Play an important role in the synthesis of proteins in a cell.
RNA
-RNA molecules consist of a single chain of nucleotides.
-There are three types of RNA .
-May be found in the nucleus or within the cytosol.
-Also plays a role in protein synthesis.
