Golden - interpret to suit case
Literal - literally as is written
Mischief - interpret to close legal loopholes ( ex word change over time )
Case Study
(Literal) Fisher v Bell (1961) - defendant had flick knife displayed in window with price tag. Statue says it’s illegal to sell, but was argued that window items are not offers but invitations.
