A response of vascularized tissue to infections and tissue damage that brings cells and molecules of host defense from the circulation to the sites where they are needed, to eliminate the offending agents
Types of inflammation include
Acute and chronic inflammation
Cardinal signs of inflammation include
Rubor (redness); calor (heat); tumor (swelling); dolor (pain); functio laesa (loss of function).
