Example: I listened to them, took their comments on board, and then made a decision.
Take Something on board=get your head around something.
Read between the lines
To understand the real meaning of something even though it was not mentioned
E.g. she said she could afford buying a new house, but reading between the lines I don’t think she has enough money.
