Twin studies.
1) Monozygotic (MZ) twins share all their genes, while dizygotic (DZ) twins share only 50%.
2) If MZ twins are more alike then DZ twins in terms of aggression, then this would be due to genes rather than environment.
3) Coccaro et al carried a study where he focused on criminal behaviour and he found that nearly 50% of variance in direct aggressive behaviour.
Problems of samplings in genetics factors/studies in aggression.
1) Focus on specific type of individual - criminals.
2) A convicted murderer would be designated as violent for one offence despite being free from violent crime in their lifetime.
3) This explains why so many studies have found so little evidence of heritability for evidence.
