Public - money from TV licence
Privately - Sponsors (specsavers, etc), advertising, subscription fees & from pay per view/audience that phone in.
why sponsors: because adverts get ignored
Analogue is being switched to digital & many channels are now free (freeview)
Electronic media is paid for through subscription fees BUT ANYONE CAN PUT INFORMATION ON THE WEB
TV & AUDIENCE NUMBERS
more people are watching it & it's popular and spend a lot of our time watching it.
