The mechanism by which drugs produce chemical and physiologic changes in the body

Involves four stages of drug movement: absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion.

Stimulate receptors and produce an effect
Antagonist drugs
Inhibit receptors and prevent a response from occurring
Non selectivity

Use of drugs that treat specific disease or produce a desired effect
